Two wonderful initiatives from Illuminate

1.   AMAZON PRICE MATCH

Can you believe it – YES – IT’S TRUE!

To try and tempt you away from Amazon we can try and match the price you will find on the Amazon web site.

All you have to do is to ring the shop and say that you want to buy such and such a book – and you have found it on Amazon for such and such a price, then we can try and match that price – on a like for like deal of course!

We wont be able to do this for all books, but please do give us a chance to get the book you want at the price you want.

2.   50 pence off any new book if you bring in a

secondhand book for us to sell

Again – another wonderful offer!   All you have to do is to bring in a good quality second hand book that we can sell, and you will be able to buy any new book in the shop and get 50 pence off.   This offer only applies to books that you buy that day in the shop and can’t be used in conjunction with any other offer.

A short think piece

Are you an online book buyer – then please pause for thought!   One of the big themes in the local Church at the moment is a renewed focus on “community”. Community is all about local interaction and building bridges with those around us where we are.  It is also all about localism – creating communities – strong local economies and societies.   For this we need business and employment – and this is where your local bookshop comes in.  Talking about “community” and then buying on line don’t really match!   YES  – we admit that sometimes we are more expensive – though that’s not our fault  – the wholesellers push us hard.  But for that little extra don’t forget that you are supporting your local community, enabling it to be a balanced, postive and sustainable place for people to live in.   A world of just online shopping does nothing for local communities.

AND  don’t forget that sometimes online retailers such Amazon are NOT actually much cheaper – if at all!  So DO compare our prices.

AND a HUGE THANK YOU to all those that do support us, even though it might take a little more effort than clicks.  We really value knowing our customers – chatting – sharing blessings and giving each other encourgement.
